The Reaction Distillation Unit (RDU) in the drawing is an advanced chemical processing system engineered from high-grade borosilicate glass. Its transparent construction allows for direct visual monitoring, making it ideal for research, pilot, and small-scale production environments where precise control and observation are critical.
- Distillation Processes: Ideal for reactions requiring subsequent separation and purification, such as synthesis and recovery of solvents or intermediates.
- Chemical Synthesis and Scale-up: Suited for pharmaceutical, fine chemical, and specialty chemical manufacturing where contamination-free and visually monitored reactions are essential.
- Pilot Plant Operations: Frequently utilized in R&D and pilot facilities to develop scalable protocols and validate reaction conditions before full-scale production.
- Reflux Operation: The integrated reflux divider makes it suitable for both batch and semi-batch processes needing precise control over condensation and reflux ratios.
- Addition Vessel: For charging reactants, equipped with line and angle valves to ensure controlled addition and prevent contamination.
- Main Reaction Vessel: Borosilicate glass reactor fitted with electric motor-driven stirrer for uniform mixing, and a flush bottom valve for easy draining. The vessel integrates both heating bath and internal cooling coil, providing accurate temperature regulation for exothermic or endothermic reactions.
- Reflux Divider & Glass Coil Condenser: Enables efficient separation by directing vapors either to reflux or onwards for distillation, and condenses vapors with a high surface area glass coil.
- Product Cooler & Receiver Vessel: Downstream product cooling and collection system, also built in borosilicate glass, equipped with additional drain valves for safe product recovery.
- Overflow & Safety Features: Multiple valves, overflow port, and venting ensure safe handling of volatile or hazardous substances.
- Versatile Connections: Dip tubes, bellows, and modular joints allow flexible setup and integration into various laboratory workflows.
- Chemical Resistance: Borosilicate glass resists corrosion and chemical attack, ensuring purity and durability. • Safety & Monitoring: Transparent construction provides unmatched visual control, crucial for safe scale-up and troubleshooting.
